PeaceJam Solano is a project of Youth Peace Initiative, a California 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. As a Chapter of the PeaceJam Foundation, PeaceJam Solano brings Solano County youth together with Nobel Peace Prize Laureates to learn and practice nonviolence and conflict resolution while actively serving our community.

Local PeaceJam clubs meet regularly to learn about the lives of the Nobel Peace Laureates and to study conflict resolution curricula designed for them by the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.

Americorps VISTA Job Opening!
APPLY NOW - Application deadline is June 5, 2009

Applications are now being accepted for an Americorp VISTA position working to build capacity of the PeaceJam programs in Solano County and surrounding Northern California region.  The opening is for a one year appointment, from August 2009-August 2010.   The candidate will have the opportunity to meet, train with and be part of a team of PeaceJam VISTAs working at PeaceJam regional affiliates and chapters throughout the country.  Benefits include small monthly living allowance, basic health coverage, post-service education award or end-of-term stipend, and relocation allowance.
