The
Second Annual PeaceJam Solano Peace Contest is open
to all Solano County youth from age 14 –
18.

DOES PEACE MEAN TO YOU?”

“HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE TO PEACE
IN OUR COMMUNITY?”
Show
us what Peace looks like, sounds like, or is like
in one of the following forms:
Literature:
Poem or Essay
➢
Up to 250 words long.
➢
Typed or clearly hand-written on 8 ½ x 11”
paper, double-spaced (essay)
➢
Poems may take any form needed, but also must be on
8 ½ x 11” paper.
➢
Poems may be free-verse -- rhyme is not essential.
➢
Essays should have well-supported main idea with
examples.
➢
Entries will be judged on clarity of theme,
creativity, and originality of
expression.
Multimedia: Music or Film
➢
If Composed: Use standard staff paper; must be able
to photocopy easily .
➢
If Performed: Use CD or DVD format.
➢
Entries must be at least 1 minute long and no more
than 3 minutes long.
➢
With or without musical accompaniment.
➢
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality
and how clearly the contest theme is
expressed.
Artwork: Drawing, Painting, Photography or
Collage
➢
Submit on a standard 8 1/2 x 11 or 9 x 12 inch
presentation board.
➢
Entry can be a drawing, painting, photograph or
collage.
➢
You may use crayons, paints, pencils, charcoal,
ink, pastels, or mixed media.
➢
Artwork must be hand done, not with computer
graphics.
➢
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality,
form and color, and clarity of contest
theme.
All entries must be accompanied by a fully
completed official entry form with student
and
parent/guardian’s signature. An incomplete
entry form will disqualify that person and their
entry.
All entries become the sole property of PeaceJam
Solano and may be used in any form including but
not limited to website, brochures, multimedia and
fundraisers.
